Description
The Hallwyl Museum is a former private home, located in the centre of Stockholm, Sweden and built for the wealthy couple Walther and Wilhelmina von Hallwyl, in 1893-1898. The building harbours Wilhelmina von Hallwyl’s large collection of art and antiquities alongside all the everyday objects that she also kept for the future. The von Hallwyls donated the house, including all its inventories, to the Swedish State in 1921.
Wilhelmina von Hallwyl initiated the collection catalogue in 1906 and the work continued during many years, under her strict supervision. It was printed between 1926 and 1956 in around 100 copies and distributed to libraries around the world.
The catalogue consists of 78 volumes and describes the Hallwyl Collection in words and images. 38 of the volumes are text descriptions, the rest contain images. The text volumes have been digitised and can be studied here.

Beskrivning
Hallwylska museet är ett bevarat privatpalats, byggt 1893-98 för Walther och Wilhelmina von Hallwyl. I huset inryms Wilhelminas stora samling av konst och antikviteter samt bevarade vardagsföremål av alla slag. Paret von Hallwyl donerade huset, alla inventarier och hela samlingen till Svenska Kronan 1921.
Arbetet med det hallwylska katalogverket påbörjades 1906 under ledning av Wilhelmina själv och pågick under många år. Katalogverket trycktes mellan 1926 och 1956 i ett hundratal exemplar och finns på bibliotek runt om i världen.
Katalogen består av totalt 78 band som beskriver den hallwylska samlingen i ord och bild. Varje föremålsgrupp beskrivs i ett eller flera textband med tillhörande planschverk. Det finns totalt 38 textvolymer, vilka alla har digitaliserats och finns att läsa här.
Observera att katalogen är ett historiskt dokument som kan innehålla stötande och nedsättande ord som vi inte använder idag.
